UPDATE: New idea, considering that Greenwich time is 6 hours ahead of EST, we will be starting the competition at 4:00 PM GMT / 10:00 AM EST on Saturday and will run it for 24 hours so it will end at 4:00 PM GMT / 10:00 AM EST on Sunday.
UPDATE: Tentative date and time is Sunday 22nd of January, 10:00AM - 8:00PM GMT. Let me know if this sounds good in the comments
UPDATE: Merijnwouda and Pirate have signed themselves up for the first match, but there's always room for more contestants if anyone else wants to join in. Details on where and when coming soon...
It's another build competition!!!.... but, here's the catch. Two people will be pitted against each other to see who can build the sickest structure in 10 hours or less. The competitors will be given unlimited access to every resource, including sponge, and, when the structures are complete, they will be judged and the winner will get.... TBD... Anyways, if you want to sign up, just say so in the comments.

also stashing away the goods for later use will result in…ahem…ban until we find your stash or you tell us where it is. so just remember have fun and what happens at the contest stays at the contest.
good point wilsonfam and, on that note, we still need to figure out how to supply the “unlimited” items. I’ve stocked chests full of what I believe will be the most necessary materials, but any ideas you guys have would be much appreciated. The contests location is somewhat undecided, but I need to know, Pirate and Merijn, what times/days next week will be convenient enough for you to hours of possibly non-stop building.
We could do /unlimited on them for a very limited and monitored time
wellt he best day for me will probably be wednesday, im getting my new processor tomorrow so will be breaking that in, and im out tonight with the misses having a meal with friends
how would next weekend work for you guys?
next weekend is possible, but since we both use GMT it’s hard to translate. My possible times are Saturday evening, and sunday. i do have a busy week after that which i have to study for, but it may be possible to work on it. How does the 10-hour limit work? you monitor the amount of time we are online or we just set a time period in which we are free to build?
I say saturday night to sunday morning. Havn’t pulled an all-nighter of mine craft for a while :D

on sunday it could start at 10 gmt, i wont be on till 2 gmt but ive built this as a practice speed run and it took me just over 5 hours so i should be all good :D
I’m glad you guys have taken to organize this all without me :). ok, so if gmt we mean general mountain time, right? Indiana is on Eastern time so we’re 2 hours ahead so, if we do 10 gmt to 8 gmt that’s 12 to 10 for me which works fine. I don’t even really need to be on at the end of the competition.
So how does 10 to 8 GMT / 9 to 7 PST / 11 to 9 CST / 12 to 10 EST sound to everyone? Also, should we stick with the unlimited items situation? heck, we could even just set up creative mode and, that way, they can’t teleport anywhere without losing creative mode. I’ll be on at around at least 1 hour before the competition, hopefully, to show you guys where it’s gonna happen. You may have to do some tree and terrain clearing, I got kind of lazzy :).
I think creative mode will be fine. Allows everyone to truly build what they intended to build. And yell if you need help clearing a landscape.
GMT is Greenwich Mean Time, EST+6. (the time we use in Europe) We could start at 6, or 12 p.m. EST, until 4, that suits me the best.
Sbrough the plan sounds good to me :) with creative mode the builds can be done much faster and much better than before, with creative mode i can do a much larger build than i had already planned :)
I believe signing out turns of creative mode so, try and stock up items that you might need in a chest near your build site incase you accidentally log off and log back on and no admins are around.
If you guys have the date and time then i think we can have admins around for the whole thing.
